Abby’s Crochet Barefoot Sandals ~ July 28, 2012

July 28, 2012

My sister had seen a picture of these adorable baby crochet barefoot sandals and asked me if I could stitch up a pair for her daughter. What a super cute idea!! And they were very simple to make. A very fun summer baby accessory to give. You can make them in boy colors without the flower too if you know boy babies and not girl ones. πŸ˜‰

Crochet Barefoot Sandals Pattern Info:

The pattern I used for this project was something I had found free online, but this was not a project I logged into my projects on Ravelry so I don’t remember the exact one I used now. πŸ™ But oh my goodness just look how adorable they are on my cute as a doll niece!! πŸ’– After seeing these I need to find the pattern and make some more!!

Crochet Barefoot Sandals Yarn Info:

Good yarn choices to use to make this would be Vanna’s Choice, Caron Simply Soft Party, and Red Heart Soft. I recommend any of these. I’m including an Amazon link below to find a few of these there. A few other places to check out to see if you could find good sales on any of these yarns listed above are the Lion Brand and Create For Less websites.

Crochet Hooks and Tools

Something else that comes in handy if you decide you’d like to stitch this pattern up for yourself is a good set of crochet hooks. My favorite brand of hooks to use are the Knit Picks brand. They are so beautiful and well made. Pictured below are the knitting needle version, of which they offer a mosaic wood version of the crochet hooks as well. I just love them. They also offer a padded handle set. I have a wooden set (although not the mosaic one…bummer…they didn’t offer that when I bought mine) and I have the padded set and I love both of them.

Whatever you do, make sure to do your research. If you purchase quality hooks from the start, you won’t have to buy replacements later on. They will stand the test of time and use, so do your homework first and shop smart!

Still Need Help?

If you currently don’t know how to crochet, I’d be happy to stitch these up for you, just send me a message to custom order. Or…. I highly recommend learning how to crochet yourself! Check out the site for Annie’s below for an online learning option. You can try this site out for free to see if you like it before continuing a membership. I’m also including a link for a kit similar to what I purchased back in 2012 that I used to aid in teaching myself to crochet, long before these great online resources were as readily available.

That should be about all you need if you want to try this one out. Please let me know if you have any questions or need any help.

Happy Stitching!
