A classic Black and White look that you can wear with just about anything. As fun as the bright and sparkly colors can be, sometimes you just need to stick with the classic and practical. Black and White doesn’t ever go out of style. This was a custom ordered gift set that I stitched and I love how it turned out.

Black and White Set Pattern Info:
The patterns used to stitch this set up were my Flower and Car Fringe Textured Scarf Pattern and my Ninja Turtle Newsboy Hat and Beanie Pattern. I of course adjusted the Ninja Turtle Pattern to exclude the ties and to add the flower. The 3 Layer Flower pattern is my original design which I offer for free in another post.
Black and White yarn choices
Good yarn choices to use to make this would be Vanna’s Choice, Caron Simply Soft Party, and Red Heart Soft. I would recommend any of these. In fact, I stitched this particular set up in the Caron Simply Soft Party yarn in Black and Snow. That is the yarn I used primarily for this set years ago because the sparkle is so much fun and the yarn is surprisingly soft. I really love this yarn and still use it often. A good place to check out to see if you could find good sales on any of these yarns are the Lion Brand Website, the Create For Less website and of course, Amazon.
Crochet Hooks and Tools
Something else that comes in handy if you decide you’d like to stitch these sets up for yourself is a good set of crochet hooks. My favorite brand to use are the Knit Picks brand. They are so beautiful and it makes my heart happy just to look at them. Pictured below are the knitting needle version, of which they offer a mosaic wood version of the crochet hooks as well. I just love them. They also offer a padded handle set. I have a wooden set (although not the mosaic one…bummer…they didn’t offer that when I bought mine) and I have the padded set and I love both of them.
I also have a cute little set from Amazon that I love too. You can buy this one fairly inexpensively and it comes with some tools and notions that will be helpful too. Several buying options to choose from and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. 🙂 I don’t have the light up set pictured below but I think that looks kind of awesome and I may have to get one and try it out. I love that it’s rechargeable!
Need More Help?
If you currently don’t know how to crochet, I’d be happy to stitch this set up for you, just send me a message to custom order. Or…. I highly recommend learning how to crochet yourself! Check out the sites below for a few options for online learning. You can try either of these sites out for free to see if you like them before continuing a membership. They are great resources for learning to crochet at your own pace.
That should be about all you need if you want to try this one out. I have lots more of these sets coming up to share since I stitched SO many of these back when I wrote the patterns. They have been very popular items! Please let me know if you have any questions or need any help.
Happy Stitching!
