Crochet Bunny Earflap Hat ~ October 20, 2014

This Crochet Bunny Earflap Hat was a custom order through my Etsy shop. If I haven’t mentioned it before, I will say it now, I absolutely LOVE when people contact me with a new idea. To be sure, there are more projects available to stitch than there are hours in a day to make them. So it is incredibly helpful when someone just reaches out and asks, hey, I don’t see this in your shop, but you could you make it? To this date I think I have said yes almost every time. There may have been a project here or there that wasn’t in my ability to do, but that hasn’t happened much. In the end it really helps me to know what people are interested in right now instead of trying to guess what to make and list.

Yarn used for the Crochet Bunny Earflap Hat

Once again I did not notate the exact yarn that was used for this hat. I did notate that I used a bulky yarn in a taupe color that I purchased at Michaels. Helpful, right? LOL The pattern designer herself recommends Bernat Softee Chunky yarn.

Great yarn websites to check out would be: LoveCrafts, Lion Brand, Knitpicks/We Crochet , Mary Maxim and Knitcrate.

Crochet Hooks and tools

Furthermore, something else that comes in handy if you decide you’d like to stitch these sets up for yourself is a good set of crochet hooks. Undoubtedly my favorite brand to use are the Knit Picks brand.

I also have a cute little set from Amazon that I love too. You can buy this one fairly inexpensively and it comes with some tools and notions that will be helpful too. Several buying options to choose from and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. 🙂 Additionally I have the light up set pictured below. I love that it’s rechargeable!

Make it even more fun and get the whole beginner crochet kit.

A little bling

Of course many little girls love a little added bling when it comes to their accessories. For many of the hats I stitched, I would add these fun little gemstones. While I don’t remember exactly where I purchased them, most likely it was at a craft store or amazon. Nevertheless I am adding a few amazon links to point you in the right direction. Another option I used frequently were fun buttons. Be creative!!

Additional Tools for when your wrists and/or hands ache

If you are like me and you knit and crochet a lot, something that I have found is useful at times is a pair of stress relief gloves. I own a few different kinds, but I do think any of them is better than not using anything at all if your hands and wrists are bothering you. In fact I’ll include a few links for you to check out.

In the event that it wasn’t totally obvious, my daughter thoroughly enjoyed modeling this hat for me. LOL!
