All Too True for me!! :o) (Except the food part, I like that a lot too.) LOL
One of the most important choices you make when you start a new project is what yarn to use. I always shop around (I’m a little thrifty sometimes) and love to shop at JoAnn Fabrics, Hobby Lobby and Michael’s when I have a great money saving coupon to use. Coupon Commotion is the BEST!! My favorite yarn choices right now include the Lion Brand Company: Vanna’s Choice. I love that Vanna’s Choice also goes to support St. Jude…a great charity!

Knit Picks ranks near the top of my list for affordable yarn that you can’t just pick up at the local craft store. I have used SO many different categories of their yarn I couldn’t even begin to list them all…but I can say I have not been disappointed in any of my purchases with them. I would buy any one of them again so I don’t think you can go wrong.
I’m not the biggest fan of the wool based yarn – Wool of the Andes, simply because it wasn’t as soft to me as some of the other choices. That being said, the colors were vibrant and the durability great so it’s just a matter of preference and of course what you are going to use the yarn to stitch up. If you don’t use it for clothing that will touch your skin you should be just fine. Or if you don’t have sensitive skin you should be just fine too.
I buy a LOT of yarn kits from BluPrint. This is not that helpful I’m sure, because they sell many different brands and weights of yarns. I have been happy with all of my purchases from this company so far. As of yet, the yarns I have used have stitched up nicely and been what I’ve needed them to be. I do have quite a few kits I have not stitched up yet so I will keep you posted on how those work out. π I know upon looking at them and feeling them that I am VERY excited to get to use them!
A company that I am very interested in trying out, but haven’t had the opportunity to do so yet is Knit Crate. I’m not sure how many hints I need to drop in order to get one of these lovely subscriptions for my birthday or Christmas, but as of yet it isn’t as many as I’ve tried. LOL It’s looking like I’m going to have to start stitching patterns and finished items up like crazy for my Etsy shop and earn enough to buy it myself. LOL
What is your favorite brand of yarn to buy? Comment and Weigh In! :o) Who is hanging out at Stay@Home Stitchings?
