Interlock Crochet Diamonds Dishcloth ~ October 27, 2016

I continued to teach myself the interlocking crochet technique by creating this interlock crochet diamonds dishcloth. I taught myself a lot of new types of stitches and techniques by working on small projects like dishcloths. They are the best things to make because even if you mess them up a little, they will just be used for cleaning and therefore perfection is not necessary. Sadly, I did not take a lot of notes on this project, so I don’t know that I would be able to make it again.

Interlock Crochet Diamond Dishcloth Pattern Info:

I created the dishcloth pattern using pattern instructions from the book Interlocking Crochet by Tanis Galik. Currently the only copy of the book I could find to share with you was on Amazon. It must be close to being out of print because the price was much higher than what I had paid for it years ago.

For my second attempt I made some pattern notes for myself. I don’t remember if they were also needed for the diamond pattern here, so I will share them again just in case:
Adjusted the foundation rows to create interlocking pattern from start to finish. Can’t keep 2 foundation rows separate and then attach for it to work. Have to interlock foundation rows.

Yarn used for the ZigZag Interlock Crochet Dishcloth

While I didn’t document which yarns I used for this project, I am pretty sure I know which ones I did. I think I used Knit Picks Dishie yarn in the colorway Mulberry and Peaches N Cream in the Pansy colorway. I’m having a hard time finding the peaches and cream anywhere online. A good subsitute would be Lily Sugar N’ Cream in Spring Swirl . As long as you are using 100 % cotton for dishcloth patterns, it’s really your preference for which brand to go with.

Places to yarn shop would be Knit Picks, Amazon , Lion Brand , Lovecrafts, Mary Maxim , A Cherry on Top, and Create For Less websites.

Crochet Hooks and tools

For this project I used U.S. Size H (5.0 mm) hook.

Furthermore, something else that comes in handy if you decide you’d like to stitch these sets up for yourself is a good set of crochet hooks. Undoubtedly my favorite brand to use are the Knit Picks brand.

I also have a cute little set from Amazon that I love too. You can buy this one fairly inexpensively and it comes with some tools and notions that will be helpful too. Several buying options to choose from and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. 🙂 Additionally I have the light up set pictured below. I love that it’s rechargeable!

Additional Tools for when your wrists and/or hands ache

If you are like me and you knit and crochet a lot, something that I have found is useful at times is a pair of stress relief gloves. I own a few different kinds, but I do think any of them is better than not using anything at all if your hands and wrists are bothering you. In fact I’ll include a few links for you to check out.

Do you wish you had stronger nails and thicker hair? Well….so did I for many years. Recently I found this company that sent me a few samples of their products and I fell in love. My nails have never been longer and stronger. I just recently started using the anti hair fall products, so I will have to keep you posted on how well they work. They definitely won my trust with their ekos castanha hand cream.
