Jacob’s Baby Gift Set ~ July 2, 2008

July 2, 2008

I might have gone a little overboard with this set. As I said earlier in the blog, 2007 was a rough year. 2008 was when it all turned around and the blessings started pouring in. In the years prior to 2008 my brother and his wife, my husband and I, and my sister and her husband were all having issues of various kinds with infertility. Whether it be through not being able to get pregnant at all, or through miscarriage, we were all unsuccessful and the heartbreak was weighing on us all. Imagine the excitement and joy when first my sister announced she was expecting, about 6 weeks later I found out I was expecting, and about 6 weeks after that my sister in law announced she was pregnant. What a nerve wracking time! We had all had so many issues, what were the chances that we would all successfully make it to the end of our pregnancies with healthy babies?! Well, God is good and that is exactly what happened…mostly. The 3rd party of the 3 musketeers started with a scare….but more to come on that later when I post pics of the set I made for him. All 3 babies are alive and well today and not babies anymore. LOL They are all 11 years old now. None of them were born on their due dates either… so instead of having that nice, long spacing between them, they ended up all being born within 6 weeks of each other total. Jacob came first…followed 3 weeks later by Brinley….and wrapping up the trio was Nathan just 3 weeks after that. πŸ’—

So, in the joy and excitement and nervousness of waiting for these babies…I started working on my sister’s baby gift first. This was to be her first child and so I did go all out. I was so happy for her!!
The blanket pattern is another one by Bernat Design Studios:
The sweater pattern is once again
the Sweet Baby Hoodie by Bernat Design Studios

The Teddy Bear is from the book I’ve mentioned before by Annie’s Attic
The bib pattern I believe was also by Bernat Design Studios. I found a link that I think might have been it, but I must have done a different border than the pattern called for because mine looks different that the one on the link.
I don’t recall what bootie pattern I used. It was too long ago for me to be able to remember all of the details. I am actually glad I was able to put together this much information.
