Jaiden’s Crochet Flower Fringe Scarf ~ December 1, 2013

Finally I think I am back in the proper order. Jaiden’s crochet flower fringe scarf was part of a matching hat and scarf set. Indeed if you look back a few entries you will see a post for Jaiden’s Crochet Flower Newsboy Hat. Undoubtedly you will have begun to notice that this was a standard hat and scarf set at the time. In fact I stitched this at the same time as the hat, however I was trying to squeeze in those skipped projects to get back on track.

Flower Fringe Textured Crochet Scarf Pattern Info:

It just so happens this pattern is a Stay@Home Stitchings original. That being said, I did have a little help in the flower fringe design using the book Crochet Borders book you see pictured below. The image is a link to the book on Amazon. If you would like the complete flower fringe textured crochet scarf pattern you can find the link to the pattern here.

Yarn used for the flower fringe textured crochet scarf:

Black: Hobby Lobby: I Love This Yarn. However if I would have picked I prefer the sparkles in the Caron Simply soft party in black sparkle colorway when I’m stitching for little girls. It’s always fun to have a little extra sparkle!
Watermelon: Caron Simply Soft Brites in the watermelon colorway

To be sure, you can use any worsted weight size 4 yarn to stitch something similar.

Additionally, other good choices to use would be Lion Brand Pound of love, Vanna’s Choice and Red Heart Soft. Without a doubt I would recommend any of these.

A good place to check out to see if you could find good yarn sales are the Lion Brand Website or the Create For Less website. Knit Picks also has a variety of worsted weight yarns to choose from that I will also share links for below that you could use to stitch this up as well. The list won’t be exhaustive, so make sure to check out their website yourself if you don’t find anything I’ve shared to be what you’re looking for. They definitely have a LOT more options than just what’s posted here.

What hooks and tools are needed to make this crochet project?

For this project I used U.S. Size I (5.5 mm) hook.

Something else that comes in handy if you decide you’d like to stitch these sets up for yourself is a good set of crochet hooks. My favorite brand to use are the Knit Picks brand.

I also have a cute little set from Amazon that I love too. You can buy this one fairly inexpensively and it comes with some tools and notions that will be helpful too. Several buying options to choose from and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. πŸ™‚ I also have the light up set pictured below. I love that it’s rechargeable!

Make it even more fun and get the whole beginner crochet kit.

Additional Tools for when your wrists and/or hands ache

If you are like me and you knit and crochet a lot, something that I have found is useful at times is a pair of stress relief gloves. I own a few different kinds, but I do think any of them is better than not using anything at all if your hands and wrists are bothering you. I’ll include a few links for you to check out.

Need a little more help?

In conclusion, that should be about all you need if you want to try this one out. If you feel like you might need a little extra assistance and want online classes to help you, check out the link below for Annie’s and Crafty websites. I take online classes often to improve and advance my skills. You can always learn something new!

I taught myself to knit and crochet through kits that I found at my local craft store, so there is always that option as well. I’ll share links to kits similar to what I used that you can also find on Amazon if you can’t find at your local craft store or can’t get to one soon.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need any help. If you are more interested in custom ordering one already made, you can contact me for that as well. I still sell the finished items. You can contact me here or find me in my Etsy shop: Stay@Home Stitchings

Happy Stitching!

One of my favorite affiliate companies to mention is Annie’s and all the clubs they offer. And they almost always have an offer off your first month. For instance, right now if you use the code SHARE50 you will get 50% off your first month. Never a better time to try it than when you can get such a great deal on it!

I don’t even have enough space in this blog to share links to all of the options they have. Trust me and check it out. You are sure to love it. For the sake of this being a knit and crochet site, I will share a few of the knit and crochet kit options. But if you are a quilter or a book lover or are looking for something for your kids, there are many many more choices to pick from.
