For those who love to stitch using big needles and thick yarn, this project is for you! Kaitlyn’s Big Stitch Knit Throw was a custom order request from my sister in law for my niece. I actually had to special order the knitting needles for this one because I had never stitched with yarn so big! Thankfully, Knit Picks had a pair of tips that worked with the interchangeable set I already owned. For those that have been following me for a while, you know that I am a complete Knit Picks fan. They have won my business for life. One of my absolute favorite companies to get supplies from.

What yarn did I used for Kaitlyn’s Big Stitch Knit Throw?
Sadly, I do not recall what yarn I used for this project. However, the pattern calls for Red Heart Irresistible Yarn. If I remember correctly, I did not use the yarn suggested for this particular project.
Places to yarn shop would be Knit Picks, Amazon , Lion Brand , Lovecrafts, Mary Maxim , A Cherry on Top, and Create For Less websites.
What are the best needles and tools to use?
If you are unsure of what you should purchase, I definitely recommend doing your own research and read the reviews. Keep in mind that you are making an investment in your craft. For this reason you want to be sure you’ll be happy with them for a long time to come. So check out the links to see what the Knit Picks needles are all about. I highly recommend them being included in your research.
Additional Tools for when your wrists and/or hands ache
If you are like me and you knit and crochet a lot, something that I have found is useful at times is a pair of stress relief gloves. I own a few different kinds, but I do think any of them is better than not using anything at all if your hands and wrists are bothering you. I’ll include a few links for you to check out.
Need a little more help?
In short, that should be about all you need if you want to try this one out. However, maybe you still feel like you might need a little extra assistance. That being the case you might want online classes to help you. If so, check out the links below for Craftsy or Annie’s. As a matter of fact, I take online classes often to improve and advance my skills. You can always learn something new! I actually taught myself to knit and crochet through “Teach myself” kits. In addition I’ll share a link for something very similar to what I purchased for myself below as well.
If you have any questions about the information in this post please just leave me a comment.
Happy Stitching!
