If you are looking for my Knit Bat Hat Pattern, then you’ve come to the right place. Everything you will need to know about this pattern will be included in this post. I designed this pattern when someone contacted my Etsy shop about stitching them up a Bat Hat. At the time I didn’t have a pattern available, nor could I find exactly what I needed, so I had to design my own. I decided to write it all out and share it with anyone else who might be looking for something similar.

What Yarn Did I use to make the Knit Bat Hat?
I stitched the pattern up in Vanna’s Choice. This is one of my favorite yarns to use. It is so super soft and I love the quality. Another yarn I have been using lately that I have really liked is the Red Heart Soft Yarn. I don’t have a direct link for that yarn, but if you click on the Create For Less link below it will take you to a site that has a lot of great yarn deals, and they sell it there.
To be honest Lion Brand is one of my favorite yarn companies. Wool Ease and Vanna’s Choice are two of my favorite worsted weight yarns to use. For this reason I have used Lion Brands Wool Ease and Vanna’s Choice for this project, to name a few. Other good yarn choices I would recommend to use to make this would be Lion Brands Pound of Love, Caron simply soft and Red Heart Soft. Places to yarn shop for these brands would be Amazon , Lion Brand and Create For Less websites.

What needles and tools were used to make the Knit Bat Hat?
The next thing that you need is a good set of knitting needles. I have used a few different brands of needles over the years, but my favorite needles come from Knit Picks. You will find that link below, but I warn you now before you click on it…once you go there you will be hooked for life. LOL There are so many different needles and tools to choose from. This is where you just need to go with your preference in knitting and go for it. I know some people prefer to use a long circular and use the magic loop method, while other people prefer a small circular needle and others still stick to the age old double points. Knit Picks has it all….
Happy Shopping!
If you are unsure of what you should purchase, I definitely recommend doing your own research and read the reviews. Keep in mind that you are making an investment in your craft. For this reason you want to be sure you’ll be happy with them for a long time to come. So check out the link to see what the Knit Picks needles are all about. I highly recommend them being included in your research.
A few other options:
In addition to this, I’m also including a few links to Amazon for some interchangeable sets that come with excellent reviews. To tell the truth, I believe interchangeable is one of the most economical ways to get started in knitting. These sets are versatile and can be used for just about any knitting project. In fact, you can even use them to knit in the round if you learn the magic loop!!
Additional Tools for when your wrists and/or hands ache
If you are like me and you knit and crochet a lot, something that I have found is useful at times is a pair of stress relief gloves. I own a few different kinds, but I do think any of them is better than not using anything at all if your hands and wrists are bothering you. I’ll include a few links for you to check out.
Need a little more help?
In short, that should be about all you need if you want to try this one out. However, maybe you still feel like you might need a little extra assistance. That being the case you might want online classes to help you. If so, check out the links below for Craftsy or Annie’s. As a matter of fact, I take online classes often to improve and advance my skills. You can always learn something new! I actually taught myself to knit and crochet through “Teach myself” kits. In addition I’ll share a link for something very similar to what I purchased for myself below as well.
That should be all you need to get this project going. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. I’m here to help!
Happy Stitching!
