Does it feel like these Monster Pants posts will never end? Knit Monster Pants #61 makes the 23rd pair of pants I had made to this point. Believe it or not, the end is near. There are only 4 more pairs to post about after this one, and then we will be moving on. It’s hard to believe after making so many pairs of these for months on end, it basically just fizzles out. Of course it probably had something to do with the fact that I wrote out the pattern and started selling that. I’m sure people preferred to make these themselves, or ask something they knew to make them for them. Who knows?
All I know is that by the end of this long line of monster pants, I was wearing hand braces to keep on knitting them. If you keep scrolling through the post, you will see a few links for ones I tried and liked during this time. Thankfully that was not a permanent problem. I do still need to wear them from time to time, but not every time I stitch something.

What yarn did I used for Mindy’s Knit Monster Pants #61?
After getting the pattern you’ll need good quality yarn. For this project I used:
Caron Simply Soft – Limelight
Simply Soft Caron – Dark Country Blue
Loops and Threads- Snuggly Wuggly Dove Grey
I designed this pattern using Knit Picks Brava Sport Yarn. You are welcome to replace it with another yarn of DK or Sport Weight. Another one I have loved using is Cascade Yarns Cherub DK yarn. If you are planning on making this something that will stay in the family for years to come, make sure you use something that is good quality and will stand up over time.
What are the best needles and tools to use?

If you are unsure of what you should purchase, I definitely recommend doing your own research and read the reviews. Keep in mind that you are making an investment in your craft. For this reason you want to be sure you’ll be happy with them for a long time to come. So check out the linksto see what the Knit Picks needles are all about. I highly recommend them being included in your research.
In addition to this, I’m also including a few links to Amazon for some interchangeable sets that come with excellent reviews. To tell the truth, I believe interchangeable is one of the most economical ways to get started in knitting. These sets are versatile and can be used for just about any knitting project. In fact, you can even use them to knit in the round if you learn the magic loop!!
Additional Tools for when your wrists and/or hands ache
If you are like me and you knit and crochet a lot, something that I have found is useful at times is a pair of stress relief gloves. I own a few different kinds, but I do think any of them is better than not using anything at all if your hands and wrists are bothering you. I’ll include a few links for you to check out.
Need a little more help?
In short, that should be about all you need if you want to try this one out. However, maybe you still feel like you might need a little extra assistance.
