Matthew’s Teddy Bear-Happy Valentine’s Day 2007!

February 14, 2007

WOW! I didn’t realize how far back I was going to have to go to find the beginning of my stitching journey. I’ve been doing this a LONG time. Sadly, before I found the Ravelry website the details of some of the projects I made will be lost, but thankfully I at least took some pictures. They won’t be the best pictures because this was long before I started doing this for social media or posting anywhere. The pictures were solely for memory keepsakes.

This project was a gift for my hubby for Valentine’s Day back in 2007. Leave it to me to start my crochet journey with a stuffed animal and not something simple like a dishcloth or even a blanket. LOL I remember stitching this bear and leaving the opening in the back to stuff it full of his favorite candy.

He was surprised to receive this as I was very new to the crocheting craft and he didn’t even know I could do this. Honestly, neither did I! Ha ha! He still has this stuffed bear on his night stand almost 13 years later. That’s love ladies and gentlemen. 💖💗
The pattern was something I found in an Annie’s Attic Crochet book titled :Blankets and Animal Companions. I didn’t make it to the scale that the pattern called for, but it worked for the purpose I had intended it for.
