Walnut Creek Cup Cozy Donation x 3 ~ March 25, 2014

To be sure, any other parents that are reading this can relate to this post. Without a doubt, we have all been asked to provide donations for our children for one thing or another. As a result of the request I received from my kids, I needed to come up with a Walnut Creek Cup Cozy Donation for the baskets they were putting together for some event they were doing. Granted, it’s great advertising for me so I don’t mind at all. In the end it just has me stitching things I might not have otherwise stitched.

Crochet Cup Cozy Pattern Info:

15 min Coffee Sleeve by Jonna Ventura

I do not have the pattern I used to make the paw print. I stitched that separately and then onto the cup cozy. As you can probably see from the pics, the other cup cozies just had different buttons sewn on and I printed the school name on them.

Yarn used

Hobby Lobby: I love this yarn: Navy colorway
White: Red Heart Super Saver

A few good substitutes would be: Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice , Red Heart Soft, Bernat Softee Baby and Caron Simply Soft, to name a few.

Crochet Hooks and tools

Furthermore, something else that comes in handy if you decide you’d like to stitch these sets up for yourself is a good set of crochet hooks. Undoubtedly my favorite brand to use are the Knit Picks brand.

I also have a cute little set from Amazon that I love too. You can buy this one fairly inexpensively and it comes with some tools and notions that will be helpful too. Several buying options to choose from and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. 🙂 Additionally I have the light up set pictured below. I love that it’s rechargeable!

Additional Tools for when your wrists and/or hands ache

If you are like me and you knit and crochet a lot, something that I have found is useful at times is a pair of stress relief gloves. I own a few different kinds, but I do think any of them is better than not using anything at all if your hands and wrists are bothering you. In fact I’ll include a few links for you to check out.
