The time has finally come. After 2 years of floating around in my head, my Knit Elf Pants pattern has finally not only made it to my needles, but also onto paper. Additionally it’s been tested and is now published and ready for purchase. These were originally inspired by my husband’s love for Christmas. Furthermore it was inspired by my children’s love for the Elf on the Shelf characters that visit us every holiday season. The magic of the holiday season and the mischievousness of Christmas Elves captured into an item that can be worn with fun and love.

What yarn should you use for Mindy’s Knit Elf Pants Pattern?
After getting the pattern you’ll need good quality yarn. I designed this pattern using Knit Picks Brava Sport Yarn. You can also find this brand at We Crochet. You are welcome to replace it with another yarn of DK or Sport Weight. If you are planning on making this something that will stay in the family for years to come, make sure you use something that is good quality and will stand up over time.
Needles and Tools
The next thing that you need is a good set of knitting needles. I researched many different brands but my favorite needles also come from Knit Picks. I warn you now before you click on one of these Knit Picks links…once you go there you will be hooked for life. LOL There are so many different needles and tools to choose from. You need to do your research and find what works best for you. It’s best to read the reviews and do your homework. A good pair of knitting needles can really last you for life, so invest well.
I guess we have discovered that Knit Picks has it all…. LOL
Happy Shopping!
Other companies you may want to check out the yarn selection is Lion Brand and Create For Less, which also has notions, needles and tools for great bargain prices.
Additional Patterns I think you’ll love:
If you find yourself loving this pattern and wanting to make it a set, be sure to check out my Mindy’s Knit Elf Hat Pattern as well. 🙂 Many people who have purchased this Elf Pants Pattern also purchased Mindy’s Knit Elf Hat Pattern in order to create a family heirloom set to pass down at the holidays for many generations. I just love that idea!
Additional Tools for when your wrists and/or hands ache
If you are like me and you knit and crochet a lot, something that I have found is useful at times is a pair of stress relief gloves. I own a few different kinds, but I do think any of them is better than not using anything at all if your hands and wrists are bothering you. I’ll include a few links for you to check out.
A few more yarn buying resources
Finally I would like to include one more place I like to buy yarn. However, you can be sure, there are a LOT of places I like to buy yarn and tools.
Need a little more help?
That should be about all you need if you want to try this one out. If you feel like you might need a little extra assistance and want online classes to help you, check out the link below for Annie’s and Crafty websites. I take online classes often to improve and advance my skills. You can always learn something new!
I taught myself to knit and crochet through kits that I found at my local craft store, so there is always that option as well. I’ll share links to kits similar to what I used that you can also find on Amazon if you can’t find at your local craft store or can’t get to one soon.
If you have any questions about the pattern please do not hesitate to contact me to help you. I want you to be able to stitch these and love them as much as I do. I’d love to see pictures when you have them finished.
Happy Stitching!
