Small Crochet Turtle/Minion/Alien hands ~ October 12, 2015

The Crochet Ninja Turtle Hats had taken my Etsy shop by storm and along came a request for turtle “hands” to complete the look. So what else could I do but create a pattern for crochet turtle/minion/alien hands. Why all the backslashes you may ask? Because if you ever look at the hands of any one of those creatures, they all look the same. LOL The pattern is available to purchase, or I’m more than happy to take your custom order for this as well.

Yarn used for the Crochet Turtle/Minion/Alien Hands

The yarn I used for this was not notated for this specific project. However for many of the turtle projects I did at that time, I used Caron United in Dark Green. Unfortunately I was unable to find a link for this yarn. My guess is it has been discontinued. A good replacement would be the Vanna’s choice in either the Kelly Green, Dusty Green or my favorite choice of Olive.

A few other good substitutes would be: Lion Brand, Vanna’s Choice , Red Heart Soft, Bernat Softee Baby and Caron Simply Soft, to name a few.

Great yarn websites to check out would be: LoveCrafts, Lion Brand, Knitpicks/We Crochet , Mary Maxim and Knitcrate.

SIDE WITH THE ICONS

Crochet Hooks and tools

Furthermore, something else that comes in handy if you decide you’d like to stitch these sets up for yourself is a good set of crochet hooks. Undoubtedly my favorite brand to use are the Knit Picks brand.

I also have a cute little set from Amazon that I love too. You can buy this one fairly inexpensively and it comes with some tools and notions that will be helpful too. Several buying options to choose from and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. 🙂 Additionally I have the light up set pictured below. I love that it’s rechargeable!

Additional Tools for when your wrists and/or hands ache

If you are like me and you knit and crochet a lot, something that I have found is useful at times is a pair of stress relief gloves. I own a few different kinds, but I do think any of them is better than not using anything at all if your hands and wrists are bothering you. In fact I’ll include a few links for you to check out.
