Seeing as how we are all quarantined to our homes for the foreseeable future, it seems like the perfect opportunity to start a project you felt like you never had time to try before. In fact it might even be one that intimidates you a little because it might have new techniques that you’ve never had to use before. I’m home right now too, so I’m available to answer any questions you have. I can try to walk you through whatever snags may pop up as you work through this pattern. This post will contain everything you need to stitch Mindy’s Knit Monster Pants pattern up. 😊
*This post may include affiliate links that I can earn a small commission from if you shop through them at no additional cost to you. Think of it as another way to help support my small business. ☺️ Please see my full disclosure for more information.*
Where can you find Mindy’s Knit Monster Pants Pattern?
The first thing you are going to need of course is the pattern. It can be purchased on:
Etsy: Mindy’s Knit Monster Pants
Ravelry: Mindy’s Knit Monster Pants
and last but not least
Lovecrafts: Mindy’s Knit Monster Pants
Free Patterns to test first:
If you’d like to see one of my patterns first, check out my Simple Seed Stitch Dishcloth Pattern and my Moss Stitch Dishcloth pattern, both of which I offer for free. Not to mention, if you scroll to the end of either of those links you will see an option to download the PDF file.
What kind of yarn to use for Mindy’s Knit Monster Pants Pattern:
After getting the pattern you’ll need good quality yarn. I designed this pattern using Knit Picks Brava Sport Yarn. You are welcome to replace it with another yarn of DK or Sport Weight. If you are planning on making this something that will stay in the family for years to come, make sure you use something that is good quality and will stand up over time.
Other companies you may want to check out the yarn selection is Lion Brand and Create For Less, which also has notions, needles and tools for great bargain prices. I’ve also used Cascade Cherub DK yarn, Bernat Softee Baby and Caron Simply Soft yarn as a few others to try when stitching these up. I know Caron Simply Soft is not DK weight, but it’s smooth enough to work with this pattern as well…and it makes them a little thicker for the finished result.
Needles and Tools
The next thing that you need is a good set of knitting needles. I researched many different brands but my favorite needles also come from Knit Picks. I warn you now before you click on one of these Knit Picks links…once you go there you will be hooked for life. LOL There are so many different needles and tools to choose from. You need to do your research and find what works best for you. It’s best to read the reviews and do your homework. A good pair of knitting needles can really last you for life, so invest well.
I guess we have discovered that Knit Picks has it all…. LOL
Happy Shopping!
Wrap and Turn Photo Tutorial
To kick you off and show you I’m serious about offering help, here is a link to a tutorial I’ve already created for a part of the pattern that most people may not have had to do before, the Wrap and Turn section. It is really pretty simple. I have a photo tutorial set up at the link below but am available to answer any other questions you may have with it as well.
Other patterns I think you will love:
Another pattern I have that uses this technique is my Knit Elf Pants Pattern. This is the perfect unique gift to stitch up and give around the holidays. I know many who have purchased to stitch these as a special family heirloom to pass through the generations.
Places to purchase that pattern can be found here

Additional Tools for when your wrists and/or hands ache
If you are like me and you knit and crochet a lot, something that I have found is useful at times is a pair of stress relief gloves. As a matter of fact I own a few different kinds. However I do think any of them is better than not using anything at all if your hands and wrists are bothering you. I’ll include a few links for you to check out.
A few more yarn buying resources
Finally I would like to include just a few more places I like to buy yarn. However, you can be sure, this list is not exhaustive. Indeed, there are a LOT of places I like to buy yarn and tools.
Need a little more help?
That should be about all you need if you want to try this one out. If you feel like you might need a little extra assistance and want online classes to help you, check out the link below for Annie’s and Crafty websites. I take online classes often to improve and advance my skills. You can always learn something new!
I taught myself to knit and crochet through kits that I found at my local craft store, so there is always that option as well. I’ll share links to kits similar to what I used that you can also find on Amazon if you can’t find at your local craft store or can’t get to one soon.
Just a few more things:
Any of these items are also available to purchase from me as a custom order…stitched and shipped to you ready to gift or wear. Feel free to contact me if you’d rather not stitch these yourself but instead are looking for a finished item. I’d be happy to help you with that as well.
Message me here at the blog or find me in my Etsy shop: Stay@Home Stitchings
Happy Stitching (or ordering 😊)!
