As you can see, this post is for large crochet turtle/minion/alien hands. The posts I’ve made have been for small, medium and large, yet I keep saying the pattern is written for 6 sizes. This info is correct. Sometimes when I’m writing a pattern I try to get the main sizes stitched up and then backtrack to fill in any gap sizes. At one point I do believe I had stitched a pair in every size to sell in my Etsy shop, but I do not have any pics documenting those projects. Bummer. That does happen sometimes as I look back.

The Crochet Turtle/Minion/Alien hands pattern can be found here. It was created to go along with the Ninja Turtle Newsboy Hat and/or Beanie Pattern. There are multiple size and finishing options to choose from for both patterns to completely customize your finished look.
Yarn used for the Crochet Turtle/Minion/Alien Hands
The yarn I used for this was not notated for this specific project. However for many of the turtle projects I did at that time, I used Caron United in Dark Green. Unfortunately I was unable to find a link for this yarn. My guess is it has been discontinued. A good replacement would be the Vanna’s choice in either the Kelly Green, Dusty Green or my favorite choice of Olive.
A few other good substitutes would be: Lion Brand, Vanna’s Choice , Red Heart Soft, Bernat Softee Baby and Caron Simply Soft, to name a few.
Great yarn websites to check out would be: LoveCrafts, Lion Brand, Knitpicks/We Crochet , Mary Maxim and Knitcrate.
Crochet Hooks and tools
For this project I used U.S. Size G (4.0 mm) and H (5.0 mm) hooks.
Furthermore, something else that comes in handy if you decide you’d like to stitch these sets up for yourself is a good set of crochet hooks. Undoubtedly my favorite brand to use are the Knit Picks brand.
I also have a cute little set from Amazon that I love too. You can buy this one fairly inexpensively and it comes with some tools and notions that will be helpful too. Several buying options to choose from and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. 🙂 Additionally I have the light up set pictured below. I love that it’s rechargeable!
Make it even more fun and get the whole beginner crochet kit.
Additional Tools for when your wrists and/or hands ache
If you are like me and you knit and crochet a lot, something that I have found is useful at times is a pair of stress relief gloves. I own a few different kinds, but I do think any of them is better than not using anything at all if your hands and wrists are bothering you. In fact I’ll include a few links for you to check out.
